Samsung has revealed it will announce a 4-inch Mini Galaxy S3 on October 11, 2012
Samsung’s head of mobile, JK Shin, has revealed that the company will officially unveil the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini on Thursday October 11 (tomorrow at time of writing).
Shin said the launch would happen at an event already scheduled to take place in Frankfurt, Germany, with the tagline ‘something small that will be big’.
The company’s mobile chief also said that Samsung believes there is demand in Europe for a 4-inch Galaxy S3 model.
It was implied that this Galaxy S3 Mini model will have the same specs as the original Galaxy S3, so that means a 1.4GHz Exynos quad core processor with 1GB of RAM and a Mali-400MP quad core graphics processor.
There should also be a Super AMOLED display, an 8-megapixel primary camera and options for 16GB, 32GB and 64GB of storage with MicroSD and SDHC capability.
Shin assured that this will not be a budget model and the handset is intended to go head-to-head with Apple’s similarly sized iPhone 5.
There’s no word on pricing at this point but we’re sure to find out more tomorrow. Stay tuned.
