At the ladies within the World Summit in new york weekday, actress Angelina Jolie spoke turbulently concerning Malala Yousafzai – the 15-year-old Pakistani girl shot within the head by the Taleban because she wished to travel to high school.
“And here’s what the gunman and the Taliban accomplished on that day,” Jolie said. “They shot her at point blank range in the head and it made her stronger. In a brutal attempt to silence her voice, it grew louder – and she more resolute…calling on the entire world not just Pakistan to ensure the right for every girl in the world to an education. It is my right she said…it is our right.”

Malala, who is recovering from the gunshot wound in England and just this month went back to school, also spoke to the summit by way of video. She announced the first grant that she is giving from the Malala Fund – which was established to help her educate girls in Pakistan and around the world.
“Today I’m going to announce the happiest moment of my life and that is the first grant of the Malala fund. In Swat, in my motherland. We are going to educate 40 girls, and I want all of you to support the Malala fund and let us turn 40 girls into 40 million girls,” Malala said.
And Angelina Jolie is helping Malala do just that. Jolie donated an additional $200,000 to the Malala Fund last night.
