Who Can Apply?
For Master’s Program:
- You must have a 4-year Bachelor’s degree or a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree combined (16 years of education).
- Recent graduates can apply. However, for an MBA or Public Policy/Administration, you need 2 years of work experience.
For Ph.D. Program:
- You must have a Master’s degree, M.Phil., or equal qualification (18 years of education).
- Applicants with experience in teaching, research, or working in the public sector will be preferred.
General Requirements:
- GRE Test: You need at least 145 marks in each section (Verbal and Quantitative).
- English Skills: You must submit TOEFL scores after selection.
- Service Commitment: You will sign an agreement with HEC to return to Pakistan after your studies and work here for as long as your degree takes to complete.
Who Cannot Apply?
You cannot apply if:
- You have dual nationality (U.S. and Pakistan).
- Your spouse, parent, or child over 18 is a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
- You or your close family work for Fulbright, U.S. Department of State, USAID, or HEC.
- You are already studying in the U.S. or have a work visa for any country.
How to Apply?
The Fulbright Scholarship Program is managed by USEFP, which works with the U.S. Embassy in Pakistan and HEC. Applications are submitted online.
Steps to Apply:
- Go to the USEFP website (www.usefpakistan.org/fulbright).
- Click on the “Start Application” button.
- Fill out the online form and upload all required documents.
Documents Needed:
- Application form (completed online)
- Three reference letters
- GRE score report
- Scanned transcripts (explain the grading system of your university)
Note: It is better to submit HEC-attested documents, but degrees and transcripts attested by your university are also acceptable.
