Govt Relaxes Winter Dress Code for School Students in Sindh

The Sindh government has announced a new policy to relax the winter dress code for students across the province. This change aims to help students stay warm and comfortable during the cold season.

Acting on instructions from Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah, the Directorate of Private Institutions issued a notice to school administrations. The notice allows students to wear any warm clothing of their choice, instead of following the school’s specific uniform guidelines.

Previously, students were only allowed to wear sweaters, jackets, or other warm clothes that matched the school’s dress code. The new policy enables students to wear any warm attire, which has been praised by parents who no longer need to purchase specific winter uniforms. This move also ensures that students remain warm and healthy.

Focus on Student Health

The Sindh Education Department has urged schools to prioritize student health during the winter season. Schools have been instructed to allow children to wear warm clothes that protect them from the cold. This measure ensures students stay healthy and avoid seasonal illnesses such as colds and flu.

Winter Breaks in Other Provinces

Other provinces have also implemented measures to protect students during the winter. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), schools in plain areas will be closed from December 22 to December 31. In hilly regions, schools will remain closed from December 22 to February 28. These closures help students and staff avoid exposure to extreme cold weather.

In Balochistan, schools, colleges, and universities in colder regions, including Quetta, are closed until February 28. Schools in warmer areas of the province have a shorter winter break from January 1 to January 10. These actions aim to protect the health and safety of students and school staff.
