Islamabad: The Bahria University, Islamabad, has won initial position within the offer Chain Competition at the lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), says a press release.
Synergies, a business and management competition platform of LUMS conducted every year, attracts teams from some of the best universities of Pakistan. In this year’s competition, Synergies 2013, around 275 students from 25 universities participated in three exciting events; PERSPICACIA (Business Case competition), GAUNTLET (Business Simulation game) and BEVERAGE GAME (Supply Chain Management simulation). Beverage Game has been introduced for the first time this year.
The Bahria Business Club teams of the university had participated in the event and were the winners in Business Game in 2012. This year the Supply Chain competition was conducted by Dr. Arif Rana of LUMS. Bahria University team participated through a fine combination of MBA students; Muhammad Arsalan (Team leader), Atif Illyas, Ali Hafeez, Muhammad Muzammil, Muhammad Nawaz and Huzaifa Niazi.
For Beverage Game, over ten teams participated and all were very optimistic about achieving victory in this new type of business game. However, it was Bahria University that recorded its name as the first ever winners of “Beverage Game” in Synergies. The winning team received a prize of Rs30,000 along with a shield. The team leader, Muhammad Arsalan who received the shield on behalf of the team said on winning the competition, “We won because of a hard teamwork and concentrated effort.”
