Telkshawk Mohaffiz Telenor Introduces Free Life Insurance Facility for Prepaid Subscribers

Telenor Pakistan yesterday – in collaboration with MicroEnsure Pakistan (Pvt.) Limited and Jubilee Life Insurance Company Limited — announced its mobile insurance product aimed at offering affordable and hassle free insurance service to its prepaid customers, many of whom have no other insurance cover.

Talkshawk Mohafiz Zindagi Beema is claimed as free insurance offering that will enable Telenor Talkshawk subscribers consuming a balance of at least Rs. 200 per month to avail life insurance — in the event of death due to any cause – ranging from Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 100,000 for the next month, depending on their monthly mobile usage.

Talkshawk subscribers can avail this free of cost service by simply dialing *345*101# from their mobile phones.

Enrolment for Talkshawk Mobile Insurance is absolutely free and doesn’t require anything other than just dialling the above given USSD string. No medical examination or paper is required at all.

Once enrolled in to the Talkshawk mobile insurance plan, your current month’s airtime consumption will determine the insurance value covered during the next month.

Below are the insurance cover slabs:

Rs 200 to 299 Rs.20,000
Rs 300 to 499 Rs.30,000
Rs 500 to 699 Rs.50,000
Rs 700 to 899 Rs.70,000
Rs 900 and above Rs.100,000

Which means, subscriber will have to consume at least Rs. 200 after enrolment/registration to get insurance cover next month. Below than Rs. 200 airtime consumption will void your insurance till the time you use Rs. 200 or above during any given month.

Validity of the cover will be for one month only.

Maximum insurance benefit allowed on one insured customer will be PKR 100,000 irrespective of number of mobile phone connection he has with Telenor Pakistan. Moreover, only registered SIMs with correct details of the owner will be granted the insurance cover in case of unfortunate incident of death.

After enrolment, a customer can nominate a relative to get the claim paid in the event of his death by calling Telenor helpline. In the event a customer has not nominated any beneficiary in his lifetime or the nominated beneficiary is not alive at the time of death of the customer, the claim will be payable to the holder Heirship Certificate as issued by an authorised department of the Government of Pakistan.

It merits mentioning here that

Your enrolment under Talkshawk Mohafiz will be cancelled if:

  • you switch from Telenor Pakistan network
  • you move from prepaid to post paid plan
  • If Telenor suspects that you have committed any fraudulent activity
