Teachers Protest Against Shahbaz Government in Punjab Province

THE office-bearers of Punjab Teachers Union (PTU) on Sunday announced that their protest movement would start today from Rahimyar Khan district against the ‘anti-teacher policies’ and establishment of proposed district education authorities in the province. According to a press release issued here, the PTU office-bearers, including its President Sajjad Akbar Kazmi, Imtiaz Abbasi, Ch Muhammad Sarfaraz, Rana Liaquat Ali, alleged the education department of the province was being ruined through a conspiracy of the authorities concerned. They said that panic was being created among the teacher community in the name of reforms and policies, adding that in the name of the chief minister’s road map for education, teachers were being punished.
