KARACHI: PPP is going to organize a 15 days festival in Sindh. The first 15 days of February of this year promise to put ‘Sindh on the map, at least this is what has been envisioned by its organizers who have come up with a detailed schedule which takes visitors from the ruins of Mohenjo Daro to the seaside for kite flying. The Sindh Festival 2014, a project started by the PPP’s patron-in-chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, aims to ‘revitalize the long-lost culture of harmony and peace’ of the province.
Fireworks will light up the skies of Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana and Thatta at 10 pm sharp. When asked about the budget for the elaborate festival, Sharmila Faruqi, the special assistant on culture to the chief minister, told The Express Tribune that the Sindh government was dipping into the Rs250 million budgets for the culture department.
