Punjab Govt Plan to Equip 4500 Schools With Solar Energy

new solar plan for govt schoolsLahore:In what could be termed a groundbreaking development, School Education Department Punjab has chalked out a plan to equip over 4,500 public schools across the province, presently having no electricity connection, with solar energy.

A summary in this regard has been moved to Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. Sources privy to the development said the plan, brainchild of the School Education Department’s Planning Wing, would be implemented in collaboration with the Energy Department after the final approval. As per the plan, each school would be equipped with solar solution powering two ceiling fans and four energy savers (bulbs) at each school during school time.
