Pakistan easily defeated Australia by seven wickets with 5.1 overs remaining in the first Twenty20 International of the three-match series here at the Dubai Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal top scored with an unbeaten 31 followed by opener Imran Nazir (22) and captain Mohammad Hafeez (17) while Nasir Jamshed made 10 and Shoaib Malik remained not out on nine.

Left-arm pacer Sohail Tanvir was the most successful bowler for Pakistan with three for 13 while off-spinners Saeed Ajmal and Hafeez, and left-arm spinner Raza Hasan claimed two wickets each. Umar Gul took one wicket.
